ES now with 2 doors!

Introducing the all new ES-Pressurized and ES-2 Door Models

March 3, 2004 (Redmond, OR) – Officially called the ES-P (Pressurized) Lancair introduces an entirely new pressurized Fastbuild ES kit plane, including carbon fiber wings and fuselage. This innovative Lancair kit is priced at $94,900 and is now available with a $6,000 deposit to place the order.  Air conditioning is one of many options available through Kit Components Inc. for $8,000, and is the same system currently used and recommended on our IV-P model.

The ES-P will be powered by the Continental TSIO-550C, 310hp engine, allowing for a cruise speed of 255 knots @ 24,000' within the comfort of a pressurized cabin. The ES-P still retains its 61 knot stall speed of the original ES, but the gross weight will increase to 3,550 pounds. Lancair sales manager Kim Lorentzen noted, “We’ve added more fuel capacity to the ES-P wings that allows for 105 gallons on board.  This additional fuel provides the range (1,200 statute miles) in a pressurized aircraft that our customers want.”

Another new development at Lancair is the addition of a second door option to the existing Fastbuild ES kit.  This new second door adds a completely fabricated fiberglass door to the passenger side of the aircraft.   All latches, the window, and mechanics are pre-assembled, and only the door frame is left to be installed.  For only $8,900, ES builders can have much easier access for all passengers.  Availability on the new second door option will be approximately July of this year.

A comprehensive builder assist for the new ES-P as well as the existing ES is available at our facility to work one-on-one with our expert staff. Lancair builders can take advantage of up to 18 weeks to complete their aircraft to flying status at $4,000 per week, utilizing all tools, materials and jigs at the Lancair facility in Redmond, OR.

Founded in 1984 and recently purchased in 2003 by IV-P owner Joseph Bartels, Lancair International produces the finest in high performance piston and turbine aircraft kits.  Lancair has become one of the world’s most successful kit aircraft manufacturers and holds several world speed records as well as championships in most major cross-country air races.
